About Me

I'm Sam Richardson, disciple of Jesus Christ, husband of Kristin, uncle of Esme, and Family and Outreach Pastor at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky. I have served in pastoral ministry in churches in Louisiana and Kentucky, primarily in teaching and family ministries. I have a bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies and Christian Worldview from Leavell College at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and in May, will graduate with my Master of Arts in Apologetics from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

If the fancy theology words and names interest you, I am a Southern Baptist and believe in Reformed soteriology, the autonomy of individual local churches, and that churches should be led plurality of elders. In my apologetics, I lean evidentialist. I am especially blessed and influenced by the ministries of Alistair Begg, Albert Mohler, R. C. Sproul, John Piper, Kevin DeYoung, and my fellow pastors at Cornerstone. I love church history and have a special interest in Augustine, John Calvin, and C. S. Lewis. I also really love the patristic era and hope to study more patristic writings once I graduate at Southern. With all the brothers I have mentioned, I differ with them on varying secondary topics but they have all helped me think through my faith, draw closer to God, and live a holier life.

My goal with this project is to write a devotional guide through the whole New Testament and Old Testament, dividing this into three 11-month journeys and eventually publishing them as three books. I'd also like to write some 31-day devotionals but those are longer-term projects. I hope you will consider reading along with us, especially around the living room or dinner table with your spouse, kids, roommates, and/or pets.

To God be the glory!

Sam Richardson
